Artificial Intelligence and Speech Technology

There has been tremendous advancement and innovation in artificial intelligence (AI), which is incomparable to the artificial intelligence that emerged traditionally.

Artificial intelligence has greatly enhanced machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and deep learning, enabling new developments in various specialized domains including speech technology. Artificial intelligence is widely used for various speech-related solutions including speech analysis, representation and models, spoken language recognition and understanding, affective speech recognition, interpretation and synthesis, speech interface design and human factors engineering, speech emotion recognition technologies, and audio-visual speech processing, amongst others.

This volume contains papers presented during the Third International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Speech Technology (AIST 2021), organized by the Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), India, and held during November 12–۱۳, ۲۰۲۱. Like the previous two editions of the conference (AIST 2019 and AIST 2020), this third edition of AIST was a great success, with the participation of experts and authors from countries including Japan, Germany, Australia, France, and almost all corners of India.

The aim of the conference was to serve as a forum for discussions on the state-ofthe- art research, development, and implementations of artificial intelligence and speech technology. AIST 2021 was dedicated to cutting edge research that addressed scientific needs of academic researchers and industrial professionals to explore new horizons of knowledge related to artificial intelligence and speech technology. Researchers presented their work revealing the latest and relevant research findings on almost all the aspects of these domains.
